I have experience with children, adolescents, and adults ranging in a variety of needs. "Sorrow can be alleviated by good company and by the contemplation of truth." St. Thomas Aquinas
Everybody’s experience is unique and identifying how you are struggling and why, is part of the journey. Addressing your mental health takes a lot of courage, you would be surprised how many people are wrestling with a mental health issue and/or deep, existential crisis that feel alone, or unable to allow themselves to seek help or speak up due to stigma, fear, or lack of understanding what therapy is. If any of this feels familiar to you, guess what, you’re not alone and there is hope.
I strive to understand an individual's unique perspective and experiences in life. I aim to have a collaborative relationship to create an individualized treatment plan following a thorough mental health assessment, within my scope of practice.
I am passionate about our Catholic faith, as it has helped pull me through some of the most difficult experiences in my life. The teachings of the Catholic Church have also been able to give me an important perspective with looking at an individual as a whole, while also being able to utilize therapeutic skills that I gained from my training and education. I particularly specialize within the field of trauma, but I am able to adapt to whatever needs that are presented to me, and if I am not able to meet those needs, I will work on helping you get connected to an individual that can. Utilizing faith and reason allows me to approach mental health treatment with an evidence-based lens, grounded in truth, beauty and goodness that our Catholic faith have been echoing for centuries.
“How can one give purpose to suffering?”. This is probably one of the most reasonable and honest questions that has echoed through humanity history when an individual is confronted with suffering. A natural cynicism can be born from such exposure to trauma but because of our faith in Jesus Christ and his actions through the cross, we are able to work towards making sense of our suffering and give it purpose which can begin laying the groundwork for healing.
Trauma is complex, and a term that I do not use lightly and find it very important to define based on an individual's unique experience. My hope is to help you get into a better Understanding of your mental health while also hoping to Provide you with tools To learn how to utilize your faith life as an additional conduit to healing.
Do not abandon yourselves to despair. We are the Easter people and Alleluia is our song."
- St. John Paul the Second
