THE GUIDING STAR MISSION
The Guiding Star Network is a private mental health group practice for clients who are searching for mental health providers in their home state. Providers can do the essential work of psychotherapy while Guiding Star handles any and all business operations.
The Catholic Identity
Our approach to psychology is founded on the Christian principle in which each human person is endowed by God with an inherent dignity. The Guiding Star Network seeks to provide psychotherapy to Christians and non-Christians who are in search of a space to explore their dreams, goals, and trials in a setting that is informed by universal Christian values.
Joshua & Maria Sweeney
Founders
Joshua and Maria Sweeney have had a long-time dream of providing a network where Catholics and non-Catholics could be connected to mental health providers via a streamlined and easy system. The recent wide-spread use of tele-health for mental health services is an advantageous catalyst for making their dream a reality. Maria is a veteran Church worker and an LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) in the State of Connecticut specializing in working with teens and young adults. Joshua is a CPA (Certified Public Accountant) who manages all of the business operations of the Guiding Star Network.
